Amelie into an experimental psychological thriller
The idea behind this exercise was to take a script from any movie, I chose Amelie due to the fact that I adore that movie, and transpose it into another genre.
The scene where Bretodeau receives his tin box of memories is moving, and as soon as I watched this over I thought: "This would be a perfect few lines for a thriller movie!"

Despite the squelching noises, off putting visuals and the fact I had to cook a chicken whilst personally being a vegetarian, I really loved creating this short! I feel like I learnt so much about experimenting with visuals and how an altered noise really affects the way we perceive that moment. The small details really created the overall feeling for me, the tongue flick whilst talking about the chicken, the faint tinnitus noise constantly in the background (which the speakers at university couldn't handle at the end) and the way the carcass was ripped open. I feel like by stepping out of my comfort zone I was able to see what made people un-comfortable and really play with that.
